Internal battery

Origin One internal battery and charger

The Origin One is designed to be powered by an internal non-swappable Li-Ion battery-pack with a 12S3P configuration with a maximum capacity of 650 Wh. The battery-pack contains a battery management system (BMS) that prevents against over (dis-)charging, over current, short-circuit, and over/under temperature. Furthermore, it performs passive balancing when approaching 100% state of charge.

The Origin One can be easily charged using the supplied proprietary Origin One Charger and by executing the following procedure.

  1. Check if the voltage supply switch on the charger is set correctly to your local mains supply conformal to the charger, either 110 VAC or 220 VAC (includes 230 VAC).
  2. Plug the AC power cord into a wall socket, the LED on the charger will blink GREEN to confirm AC power on.
  3. Remove the charger port protective cap.
  4. Plug the DC charger cable into the robot's charger port.
  5. Origin One automatically starts charging:
    • LED blinking RED confirms charging
    • LED solid GREEN confirms battery is fully charged
    • If the robot is powered, the display will indicate the current state of charge (SoC)
  6. Before driving the Origin One, remove the charger cable and plug in the charger port protective cap.

Info

The battery can only be charged at a maximum temperature of 45C +- 3C. If you the battery is empty and seems like it doesn't charge, then wait until the system has cooled down sufficiently. Charger operating temperature: 0°C to 40°C

Danger

The Origin One Charger is not IP-rated and is therefore not intended for outdoor use. Therefore, charge the robot in a sheltered or indoor environment.
