First manual drive
Before driving
Warning
Before attempting to drive the robot, ensure to check the following.
- The robot batteries are sufficiently charged, see charging the Origin
- The remote controller batteries are sufficiently charged
- Depending on configuration, the wireless E-stop transmitter battery is sufficiently charged, see charging the wireless E-stop
- Charger cable is removed from Origin One robot.
- Any accessories or external devices not rigidly attached to the robot are unplugged and removed from the Origin One.
- Ensure that no objects are within 0.5 m of the robot and that no persons are within 2.0 m range of the robot, see safety perimeter
Booting and manually driving
To boot the Origin One to operational mode, proceed with the following steps:
- Press and hold for 1 second the Origin One power button, see Origin One overview.
- The corner status lights will indicate the Origin One starting up, see Origin One signal lights
- Disengage all emergency buttons, see Origin One emergency stop controller
- Wait until the signal lights turn solid green, this can take between 1-2 minutes to boot the internal Linux computer.
- Turn on the PS4 Bluetooth controller by pressing the power button, see remote controller overview.
- Check if the remote controller is paired, indicated by a solid blue light on the status indicator on the back of the controller.
- The Origin One is ready for operation.
To start driving the Origin One with manual control proceed with the following steps:
- Check if the charger cable is removed from the Origin One.
- Check if no loose components are on top the robot before driving.
- To engage the Origin One in manual drive mode, press the "O" button on the remote controller.
