Mapping

The Mapping module button

With this module, you can use a robot to map out a space for robot navigation. Once a space has been mapped out by a robot, that robot can perform autonomous missions in that space. The resulting Local Map can be used in the Mission Planner to plan missions on.

In order to start mapping, you first need to connect to the robot you want to use during the mapping process. Prefer connecting to the access point of the robot, as it will provide a more stable connection. Once connected, you can press the Start mapping button to turn on Mapping mode on that robot.

When the robot successfully switches to Mapping mode, you will see a QR code and button to open the Mapping Interface. This is a web interface hosted by the robot. You can either open it on the computer that is also running Cerebra Studio, or on your tablet or phone using the QR code. We recommend opening the interface on a tablet or phone, as it will be easier to move around with it while mapping.

When connected to access point mode you can access the mapping interface by navigating to http://192.168.192.1:8082/ in your browser, if you don't want to use the QR code.

Once you are done with mapping out a space, you can put the robot back into its default mode by clicking the Stop mapping button.
