Manual drive
Corresponding components: Origin Platform – Manual Drive
Warning
Ensure the robot is unplugged from its charger before operation.
Warning
The Origin One does not include collision avoidance when it is operated manually. Refer to the Drive Controller documentation for guidance.
After the robot has completed its startup sequence, turn on the remote controller. The LED on the back of the controller will blink white while searching for a connection and will switch to solid blue once connected. If the controller fails to connect, check the battery level or ensure you are within range (maximum 20 meters under optimal battery conditions). Consult the controller range documentation before driving.
The robot supports multiple control modes: RELEASED
, MANUAL
, TELEOPERATED
, AUTONOMOUS
, and USER
. The robot will always start in the RELEASED
control mode, which allows switching to any other control mode.
To activate MANUAL
mode:
-
Press the "O" button on the remote controller. The robot will then respond to joystick input.
- Left joystick: Drives the robot forward and backward.
- Right joystick: Controls turning.
-
Left joystick click: Toggles a combined joystick mode for the left joystick, i.e., forward, backward and turning.
- Click again to revert to the default mode.
-
Hold "L1" button: Increases the maximum driving speed from 1.0 m/s to 1.4 m/s and boosts turning speed.
To return to the RELEASED
mode:
- Press the "X" button on the remote controller. This allows another system (e.g., Autopilot or custom user code) to take control.
For further details on using the Origin remote controller, see the Remote Controller documentation.
