How to Develop Hardware for Vertex One

Introduction

Vertex One is a powerful, out-of-the-box flying drone platform designed for high versatility and ease of integration of new hardware features, using pre-defined hardware interfaces.

Hardware Interfaces of Vertex One

Mechanical Interfaces

Hardware can be easily integrated on Vertex One using pre-defined mounting interfaces:

  • Front
  • Back
  • Top
  • Side (left/right)

The drawings and 3D models of these interfaces are available for download and can be found on each page.

Electrical Interfaces

There are pre-defined electrical interfaces on Vertex One as per Specification List Gen 3 or Specification List Gen 4.

To expand the connection possibilities even further, an additional module, the Vertex Bridge Gen 3 or Vertex Bridge Gen 4 is available. Either you can purchase a complete module or alternatively, you can start developing your own bridge-module using the open source design files.

Important to Know

Warning

Make sure the design of any additional hardware doesn't interfere with defined volumetric exclusion zones; failing this requirement might degrade the performance of the Vertex One or limit its functions.

Warning

The physical position of additional hardware w.r.t. center-of-mass of Vertex One must be considered proper working of the Vertex One's flight controller; failing this requirement might degrade the performance of the Vertex One or limit its functions. Specify the changed physical properties using the parameters

Warning

The aerodynamic influence of additional hardware must be considered for the performance of the Vertex One; failing this requirement might degrade the performance of the Vertex One or limit its functions.

Warning

The weight of additional hardware will decrease the flight time of your Vertex One. Never exceed the defined maximum payload weight limit.
